Prefactor in 2025

✋ For those of you who haven’t got to know Prefactor yet, we are an Australian user management startup led by the founding team Matt Doughty (CEO) and Simon Russell (CTO).

We were funded with inception capital by Antler as part of their residency in November 2024. Matt and Simon met on the first day of the 4 month program and instantly aligned on their values and a passion for technology.

The founding team have over 40 years shared experience within software and are passionate about building something that people need and will enjoy using. We are extremely excited about what 2025 brings and are delighted you are joining us for the ride.

Our vision

We’re building a developer-first user management platform—one that’s not a low-code, black-box solution that’s hard to work with, but a system that engineers can seamlessly embed into their application code as if they wrote it themselves. By uniquely combining Authentication, Authorization, and Audit in a single platform, we’re giving developers the best of both worlds:

Closed beta launch in March

💫 It’s been 2 months since we received inception funding from Antler. During this time we’ve built a product, designed a go-to-market strategy and began outreach to investors as part of our next fundraise… It’s been a busy but hugely enjoyable time.

💥 With all of the incredible hard work Simon (Co-Founder and CTO) has been doing, we are launching our Closed Beta in March 2025!

🚀 For our launch in March our product roadmap has led directly from our design partner feedback. Our main focus for initial customers is helping them leverage our SSO integration with Microsoft Entra.

The next 6 weeks is focused on building a production ready environment where we can showcase Prefactor to the community of engineers and CTOs who want to build better authentication and authorisation solutions.
